PHILIPPE MUGISHA was born in Kigali city
Rwanda in 1996. He is a Rwandan self
taught Artist, photographer and traditional dancer . Philippe started to do art at young age,
He would like to sketching using different pencils and draw on the blackboard at school,
also sculpting different cars by using wires.
At that time, he did not
know that he will make art. He thought he was only
making for fun. In 2007 he joined Ivuka arts studio as a traditional dancer, and that it helped him to feel
and like art cause he spent more time with the artist in ivuka arts.
After many years of dancing, in 2012 he decided to do art as his career and
started working with Ivuka Art gallery in Rwanda to fulfill his talent and continued to develop his art and now he is working at @np_arts_center
Since 2016, Philippe continued to be inspired by ladies, cause as usual here in Rwanda before the
women they was down to the men, after getting gender balance he decided to work on them as to
improve gender balance and create the artworks on ladies in the way for improving gender balance and
brings the peace in society by the difference colours he used.
Now, Philippe lives and works in Rwanda as a visual artist. Philippe he helps and teaches
Children traditional dances as to bring peace in community and to keep Rwandan culture through art
and traditional dance.
He believes through art and
dance the future will not be bad because, as they will be able to express
themselves by using their career in a positive way as how he did it
