Patrick Nizeyimana is a self taught painter, traditional dancer and mixed media expressionist. Founder of NP ARTS CENTER, he was born in Rwanda, Kigali in 1998 .
He started drawing and dancing when he was 7 years old, getting inspiration from the art program which was running in his neighborhood in 2007.
In 2007, Patrick began exploring with the art of drawing and dance. As a 7-year-old, he kept his inspiration from the art program that thrived in his neighborhood.
After graduating his high school in Science, he continued to further pursue this creative passion and began working as a full-time artist since 2015.
His art is often reflecting the everyday life of the Rwanda society after genocide against Tutsi in 1994, it’s changes and it’s resilience.
Depicting the Rwandan society stems from a desire to share his message with, not only his community, but likewisesociety outside the borders of his country. Through his creative portrayal of the country's history and culture, he is hoping to contribute his part to the rebuilding of his nation and reuniting the Rwandan society.
During the art programs at his art center who are held during the weekend, Patrick likes to guide and teach young children at age of 3 to 15 to paint, dance and learn how to drum. He believes that his Art center can help them to overcome the fear of being creative and teach them how to express themselves through art. Starting from a young age, art can guide these children in their personal development but also assists them in fulfilling their dreams of becoming our future artists. Since Rwanda has so little art schools, providing a learning space for kinds, is Patrick’s
contribution to the neighborhood and Rwanda society as a whole.
